I'm in love with a dead artist...

...Frida Kahlo, quite probably my favorite artist.

Today is her birthday... Google her, look at some of her art. Love it. Hate it. Appreciate it. See it with open eyes & mind.

  1. Frida Kahlo <3 I am in love with her , too!

  2. I have to second that emotion. I think Frida is fab. I love coming here to visit- thank you for the good wishes for my IG

  3. hey annalee,

ah... frida! my favorite artist as well. i saw her work for the first time in san francisco 2 years ago and i actually cried, it was so breathtakingly beautiful. she lived her live so fiercly and unafraid. that, i think, is what makes her such a bold artist and an icon.

i remembered that we talked briefly during the where bloggers create about how to make faces more wrinkly when working with paper clay... i came across another "method" this morning while looking through an old sommerset studio mag, tried it out and it worked pretty well, so i thought i would pass it along: a wood working tool. i know! who'd a thunk it!?! i tried it on a skeleton face just to give the eye more depth and i liked the result. thought it would work on wrinkles so i thought i'd pass it along..

    have a great weekend!

Out with it!
