Sitting here in my office, enjoying the calm before the impending 1900 staffing storm, thinking about food, fat, body image, etc... Contemplating how difficult it can be to eat well while at work. Thinking about going to go fill my water bottle back up, and wanting a diet Pepsi. I have a difficult relationship with food. Very much so a love/hate type of thing. I love to cook and bake, I love to eat. I unfortunately tend to over eat, and that is where my problems lie. Like right now... I'm not hungry, not really. I could eat, but I don't need to. Yet in some ways, I want to. They are serving my favorite dish in the caffeteria tonight for dinner... the beloved Taco Salad... I brought soup with me in case they weren't serving anything good, but I LOVE the taco salad. Actually, in the car on the way here, I decided that as I had brought dinner along with me tonight, I wasn't to buy food. I may purchase a soda and an energy drink.

So I didn't buy taco salad, as much as it enticed me. I did, however, get a diet pepsi & an amp. Alrighty. Off to the rest of staffing and then off to lunch at 1930. I'll probably pop back in tonight sometime to check all the wonderful posts I've missed while I've been away. Zya!

Happy (belated) Holidays! ^_^

It was so nice to log on today and see all the wonderful holiday posts from all the amazing people here in the online world. It's nice to feel connected to people all over the place. ^_^ Happy Holidays to all you wonderful people who inspire and amaze me daily. Thank you for sharing this wonderful part of yourselves! ^_____^

As xmas eve was insane in trying to get stuff done before heading to the in-law's, and xmas day we worked little butts off (we started our New Year's cleaning early...), I haven't even turned my poor, neglected computer on since the 23rd. So, I figure that now, at work with not a whole lot to do at the moment, would be a good time to jot down a few thoughts. ^_^

Again, Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, etc. to any and everyone! I hope your holidays were as nice as mine, if not better.

We had a good time at Britt's parents' house, despite the fact that her mom, who has mental health issues, has decided that she can no longer celebrate Christmas (even though she professes to be a devout Christian), as it is an evil pagan holiday. -_-#
She also now believes that the Bible told her that Christmas trees are evil. When Britt asked her how she came to this conclusion, she was told that "It's in the root of the word "idoltry," (pronoucing it "idol-tree"). The word I'm assuming she was refering to is idolatry, and I still don't quite know what to make of this. She seems to be under the impression that idolatry is the worship of trees as idols or something. I was absolutely floored when Britt told me this after we got home that night. It makes me so sad that she's so grossly misinterpreting the Bible to the point where she now believes that a Christian holiday is evil, and therefore must be shunned. All of her craziness and her resulting behavior can make life difficult & makes me sad, but now that she talks to God on the phone using her sister Pam as a conduit, things have gotten so much worse.

Anyways... sigh... It was still a nice time with family, even though it was, as always, a bit strange. ^_^

Britt and I have had the best winter holidays EVER this year! We've loved every minute of it. This is saying quite a bit, as we both usually HATE the winter/winter holidays. We both have had such a good winter so far. Britt actually voluntarily put on xmas music yesterday... I just about died of shock... XD

We've decided to make it a tradition, loosely based on my parents' tradition, of getting all the family/visiting obligations out of the way on xmas eve, and then keeping xmas day all to ourselves. Unlike my parents, however, we're going to use xmas day to get a jump start on our New Year's cleaning every year. This way, as the old year goes out, so do all the energies, messes, stresses, etc., making way for the New Year and the infinite possibilities that come with it. We worked our asses off yesterday, and had a lot of fun cleaning together. We actually had quite a blast. ^_^
We ingested a few pots of koffee, and away we went! We cleared out and then scrubbed the fridge & freezer, did dishes & laundry, vacuumed, cleaned both bathrooms, cleaned the porch & got the rose ready for the winter. I can't wait to get home today and go at it again. At this rate we'll be finished long before New Year's eve! ^_^

I get to go grocery shopping today for soup ingredients. Yay! I'm excited. I love making soup & bread. Makes me super happy. ^_^

Anywho. I'm off to either poke at my scarf (it's almost done!!!) or poke at my book (it's alomst done!!!). Either way, I'm hoping to finish something today. ^_^

Have a wonderful day everyone & Blessed be. ^_^

Why do we need sinuses???

Sigh... I am supposed to be cleaning my kitchen... lolz... but, as I'm sick again, I'm not feeling like doing much of anything... ^_^ I think I might actually go take a nice HOT bath and see if the steam helps my sinuses. I might heat up some soup, though, first. I really don't feel well... At least I'm not sneezing like a fiend any more. That was irritating... lolz. I did end up trading out sneezing for swollen, slightly painful glands, but they're not too bad yet. I'm hoping to kick this before they get to the "too bad" stage. ^_~

Anywho... enough pity party-ing...

We're off to the in-laws' house tomorrow for our holiday dinner. It's bound to be interesting, as always. We're in charge of bringing butter flake rolls. Yummy... We're supposed to be going in with Desty for a present for her & Britt's parents, but we haven't been able to get a hold of her... and she keeps missing us. Not that she bothers to leave a voicemail or anything... -_-;

Well then, I suppose I'll be off to my bath & soup & quite probably some tea... and then maybe some anime... It's always nice to curl up with good anime. ^____^

And now for that "Happy Yule" Post...

Since I didn't get to it last night, I figured I'd just do it now... ^_^ We were up for a good portion of the night last night, with only one candle burning. After a few hours, I lit all my candles and we let them burn until dawn. We managed to fall asleep on the futon a little before dawn, but oh well. We gave it a go. ^_^ It was a nice night all around. We sipped eggnog, which I'm again sipping now, and I had some decidedly tasty Elderberry honey wine, a bit of which exploded all over me & my kitchen. I was amused. And sticky. I scrubbed my walls, but there's still some stains... I think I'll have to haul out the bleach... Anywho.

I'm sick again (actually, I don't think I ever got better all the way from last time...), and once again producing far too much mucus for anyone's good. But I shall survive. Stuffy noses & sinuses aren't much more than an inconvenience, and the only thing that concerns me is that my inner ears hurt... I shall buy some ear candles on Thursday, and I think that those should help.

I did promise cookie pics, and I do indeed have them... they are snazzy. I'll post them tomorrow, as I'm not sure what Britt did with the camera, more specifically the memory card there in. So I shall have to go in search.

Well then, I'm off to the shower after finding something to wear to work tonight... meh. I so wish I could just wear scrubs... I LOVE scrubs... so comfy. ^-^

Anywho, again... I hope everyone had a wonderful Solstice, and that you have wonderful holidays this lovely winter season, which ever ones you celebrate! Happy Holidays, and may peace, love, joy & hope find their way into your lives. Blessed be! ^_______^

Just read about Pattee's friend Renee, which reminded me of my grandmother, aunt & cat, all of whom I've lost to that vile monster, Cancer. I miss them. So much. I'm lighting a special candle for Renee tonight. For someone I've never met, never spoken to, I feel the need to send her all my love, strength, well wishes & most of all hope. I'm sitting here crying like a baby, with my cats all staring at me like I've finally lost it. I'm hoping Britt doesn't wake up, as I'll have to explain to her why I'm leaking tears everywhere... I originally intended to post a Happy Yule post, but that will have to come later I think. Right now, I'm off to light candles. Love, hugs & happiness to all, especially Renee, her family & loved ones & Pattee. *HUGS* to you all.

Happy Friday!

The sugar cookie dough is mixed & chilling out on my porch, as my fridge is full (mostly of soup...) and it apparently requires chilling before baking. ^_^ Listening to Damh the Bard's album Spirit of Albion & The Hills They are Hollow. I love his music. Decided against making cookie cutters at the moment, and am going to cut out my shapes free hand. I am so excited for Cthulhu cookies... I could just pop. XD I shall post pics as soon as I have them frosted. I think I'll make some Elder Sign cookies too... Off to figure out what I'm going to put into Britt's and my Solstice tentacles... (as opposed to Christman stockings... lmao...) Happy creating, baking & mess-making!

Wreath Pics!!!

I was very productive yesterday! I made a HUGE pot of soup, tasty bread and finished the wreath for my front door. I also had Lauren over for dinner, and that was fun. Anywho, here's some pictures of my wreath. I'm pleased with it, as it's my first attempt at anything along these lines. Listening to Nightmare Before Christmas as it plays in the living room. Oh how I love this movie... ^_^ Going to go buy Tokyo Godfathers on pay day, as it is the best anime holiday movie ever. Off to finish my soup and then to cookie cutters! Yay!!! ^_____^

Oh yes... and here's the wreath pics... lolz... almost forgot them... ^_~

^ A close up of the paper stars I strung on as a garland.

^ The little moon ornament I stuck on, as I didn't feel like stringing any more stars, but had a slightly nekkid spot on my wreath. ^__^ I made it a while ago & it's been sitting in my cabinet just waiting for something. Apparently it was waiting for my wreath...

^ The whole thing. I love the "Beware" in fake blood... We hung that on our door Halloween 2008, and liked it so well that we just leave it up all year round... XD

Good Morning!!!

It's a lovely morning here in Bellingham... Cloudy but not raining & warm-ish. I'm making koffee to take with us as we go for a walk. My jaw is feeling better unless I chew... so I'm avoiding doing that currently... lolz... When we get home I'll be making soup, as I finished cleaning my kitchen last night. W00t. I'll also be making bread. Yay! And then tonight we'll have Lauren over for dinner. ^_^ I'm excited. It'll be fun. I'm going to be making some shelves to hang in the kitchen... That will be fun, as soon as I get a saw... O_o

Off to koffee fueled walks! Everyone keep making lovely, fun magical messes & Blessed be! : D

Scrubscrubscrub!!! ^_^

Went to the dentist this morning... technically yesterday morning. Whatever. Two root canals & a filling later, my teeth are considerably improved from their former state, but my jaw aches... and the oxycodone isn't doing anything but making my body feel... disembodied. Since loafing around my house feeling sorry for myself wasn't getting me anywhere, I decided to clean my kitchen. ^_^ This is making me feel better. I hate it when I let my kitchen get so messy. Ack. And I can't cook in a messy kitchen, so in order to make soup & bake some bread today, I need to clean the place up first. Having a clean kitchen just makes me feel good. ^_^ Listening to SpiritsCast as I clean. Decided to take a quick break to pop by my blog, but now I'm back to making my space miichy!

I am in a rediculously GREAT mood. And I have no idea why. ^_^ Perhaps it's because I decorated the vase full of Pussy Willow branches in my office... yes, that actually might be it. It's awesome. I shall attempt to post a picture of it... Anywho. Staffing is going wonderfully so far this evening. I am pleased. I hear that it is snowing buckets in Blaine, and hope we get some here too. That would be just lovely. ^_^ Well then, off to finish making phone calls for South Campus for tonight... And then off to lunch at 1930. Yay!

Having issues posting the pic... I shall continue trying.

...Mew... No, I don't know either...

Arg! I don't want it to be 1300 already! I have to be at work at 1500... meh. It's still cold & a wee bit snowy, but we didn't get as much snow as I was hoping for... Rumor has it that there is more to come tonight, but we'll have to wait & see. Vaguely worried that people will be calling in sick left & right if we do get more snow, but I guess that can't be helped. Not worth worrying over now.

I can, however, worry about going to the dentist tomorrow... I'm going to have two root canals & two cavities filled... My appointment block is two and a half hours. The receptionist said that since I get there at 0700, I should be out by 1000 at the latest.
I. Am. Terrified.
Meep... O_O

Sigh... It has to be done, I suppose, and sooner rather than later at that. Meh...

Well it's off to shower, then perhaps to make some more paper stars for my wreath's garland... then off to work. Meh. First I'm going to take something for this horrid headache that just popped up out of no where. Until next time, everybody stay warm & Blessed be. ^_^

It's official!!! We have the first snow of the year! Yaaaaaaaaaaayyy!!! I'm so excited! It's so pretty! I'm going to go frolick in it on my lunch break... I knew I wore my super toasty warm jacket for a reason today! ^_________^
Unfortunatley, it's not sticking yet, but I'm just enjoying looking at it. ^___^ I haven't been in a very good mood this morning, but the snow cheered me up. I love it when stuff like that happens! A half hour until I take my lunch break, so until then I think I shall read or crochet... ^_^

The Way of the Hedge Witch

I have absolutely, 100% fallen in love with this book! It makes me want to clean... I'm actually wishing my work party was tomorrow or something, so that I could just go home & clean today... Britt is going to think I've finally completely lost it... ^_^ No matter what your spiritual beliefs or lack there of, this book is one of those that (at least so far...) seems as it would benifit any who take the time to read it. I'm not terribly far into it yet, but if you get the chance, grab this lovely book by Arin Murphy Hiscock & give it a read. Better yet, read it, contemplate it & scribble notes in the margins. Books with notes written in them are the best! ^___^ Anywho. I just had to share this quick, as it makes me so twinkley & happy... To quote my fav mechanic... "I feel shiny!" ^_^

The Plastic Rectangle of DOOM...

I got a "Pre-approved" credit card offer in the mail about a week ago. I hemmed & hawed, read all the fine print about 17 times, had Britt read the fine print, then finally applied for the damn thing. And got approved. I just about keeled over & died of shock. As I've never had a credit card before, I have no credit... Now that I understand the necessary evil of having a card in order to build credit to get loans for school & such, I haven't been able to get one, as I had no credit to begin with. So, as soon as the evil bit of plastic gets here in 7-14 business days, I shall commence my credit building. I think I'll use it to purchase crafting items... ^___^

Alrighty... Back from lunch with Britt & running to Walmart for tights... I so hate going there. Blech. As it's now about 0515, I don't see much point in going to bed. I'll have to be up in an hour anyways. Maybe I'll go lay down though... I've only slept for about 45 minutes, right before I went to get Britt for lunch. I don't know... meh... I'm not tired now, but I'm worried I'll be tired later, and I have a Christmas party to go to tonight... Fine. I'll go lay down. Hmph. First, I'm gonna pack up my bag so I'm all ready to go. Very good. Until later... zya.

Last night off til Wednesday...

Hmmmmmm... What should I do? Sleep, is what I should do, as I have to be at work at 0700, but it's probably not what I will do... I have two new books... The Witches' Almanac for Spring 2010-2011 and The Way of the Hedge Witch. I also have the Autumn volume of 2600. I think I'll poke through my books tonight & take 2600 to work with me tomorrow. I also have a paper star garland to make for my wreath & pine needles to vacuum up... before Lhu eats them all... O_o I think I shall vacuum now & then go curl up in bed with books & kitties... that way, if I do fall asleep, I'll at least not wake up all stiff & sore. ^_^ Well then, off to vacuum, books & bed, with hopes & dreams that I'll wake up to SNOW in the morning! That would be just lovely. Goodnight, stay warm and Blessed be. ^_^

Post from this morning...

So while at BTC, waiting for Britt to finish her math final, I was stranded without internet. Woe is me… Anywho, I figured I’d just type out my journal entry here in MS Word, and then post once I got back to civilization… ^_~

We spent the night at Lauren’s house last night, Britt studying, me alternately helping, reading yaoi (squeeeeee!!!), poking at my computer & napping on Lauren’s sorry excuse for a love seat. Seriously… it’s made of wicker, which while nice for summer lawn furniture, doesn’t cut it for a napping place… =_=;

Going to do all the crafting today that I didn’t get to do yesterday, as we spent seven hours yesterday at Lauren’s followed by a few hours at home napping, then back to said best friend’s house for the night, starting at 2130… She is so wonderful. We love her. ^____^

Poor Britt’s so exhausted from all the studying she’s been doing. She’s been doing nothing but study, work & sleep for the past few days, with only the occasional knitting break in between math problems. I’m so proud of her for working so hard! ^_^ And today, as soon as she’s done with her test, it will all be over… at least until next quarter.

After I dropped her off for her test at 0900, I went on a walk along one of the gorgeous trails here in Bellingham. I spent some time talking to my mom, whom I miss SO much… and then I ran around the parking lot collecting branches from pine trees that the wind has blown down over the past few days. I can’t have a Yule tree, due to rabid attack cats & an allergic Britt, but I am going to have a wreath!!! Even if I have to hang it outside, I will be happy. ^_____^ I’m thinking about decorating the railing on the porch too… ^_^
I found some great branches! A few have pine cones still attached! One branch has 9 or 10 pine cones! I’m so excited, I could just pop. *squeeeeeee!!!*
I also need to go collect some twigs to make my wooden star garland! I’m so gleefully excited for all this, I might very well explode. I shall post pics as soon as anything gets started/done. Yay!!!

And as I was gazing happily at the sky today, I noticed clouds… Lovely, DARK, hopefully snow filled clouds… We might finally get some snow!!! YAY!!!

I wish I had my scarf with me to work on today… But I left it home last night on the table, and I’m hoping (Cthu)Lhu hasn’t shredded it in my absence… I will cry if anything has happened to my scarf (I’ve worked so hard!), but in all fairness, I shouldn’t have left it within kitty reach… Oh well. I’m not going to worry about it now. I shall see as soon as I get home. Kinda chilly, and kinda hungry… and strangely enough, I’m wishing for a cup of ramen… O_o So I’m off to see if I can find one. Have a lovely day everybody, and Blessed be! ^___^

Side note: I found my beloved cup of ramen! Blessings upon the Japanese for inventing something so delish! : D

Dramatic Muckety Muck...

Trying to not let my good mood completely evaporate in light of recent news that a co worker of mine has been running around telling people we work with that I'm after her job. Apparently someone pulled the House Manager aside last night and was asking her if she'd heard yet that "Annalee is trying to take _______'s job"... Funny thing is, I already have the same job that my co worker has. The only difference, starting in January, will be which seven days every pay period that I'll work. I really don't get why people do stuff like this. I know she was upset when our manager asked if she'd be willing to switch a few days in our schedules around. But after that episode, our manager backed off and isn't making her switch anything. I don't get it. Why would she tell people I'm trying to take her job? It doesn't make any sense. Sigh... I'm not even mad... just upset that she'd paint me that way to people we both work with...

Anywho... I don't want to dwell on it, so I won't. I'm going to talk to my manager tomorrow, as I don't feel this kind of behavior is appropriate or should be tolerated. I don't want anyone to get into trouble, just perhaps have it suggested that they should be more careful as to what they say, as things get around quickly here.

And now that I got that out of my system...

I'm super excited that tonight's my last shift until Saturday day shift. ^____^ yay!!! I plan on not sleeping for three days and doing nothing but crafting. W00t. I'm going to get my sewing machine fixed, sew Lauren's doll bedding, poke at my doll's clothing to be, finish my scarf & hopefully sew a doll. Or two. Squee! I'm so excited to get home and start my crafting binge... ^_________^
I love day dreaming about all the fun stuff to craft... It maketh me a happy miich. And now, back to work. Not that I'm really doing anything tonight. I'm just here to make sure that Kat has back up on her last noc shift of training. She's doing awesome! ^_^ I'm happy that Terry hired her. I think she'll be an awesome asset for the Staffing office. W00t again.

It's freezing. And insanely windy. And I'm loving it! ^-^ I made four loaves of bread yesterday, one of which will go to Heather tomorrow. Two loaves of white bread & two loaves of bread that had some white & wheat flour, chopped up hazel nuts, sun flower seeds & oats. It is SO good. I'm happy my bread turned out this time! I was almost scarred to try again after my last bread catastrophe, but I did try, and I'm glad. We now have nommy bread. ^_^ It's back to work tomorrow & Tuesday night, then three days off again! Yay! I'm going to go hunting for twigs tomorrow, as I want to make a wooden star garland. Yay for the wind blowing sticks & branches down for me!!! Only little ones though... ^_^

Still working on my purple scarf. I have about two feet done, so only maybe four more to go? Meh... I'll just have to see what feels right for the length.

I've been poking through two of my books that I purchased a while ago, but until now haven't used. The Crone's Book of Magical Words & The Crone's Book of Charms & Spells. They're both entertaining. And I marked a few entries I'd like to try out. I tried out the charm "For the Art of Cookery" before attempting my bread last night... I figured I could use all the help I could get. XD

Anywho... I heading back to my crocheting for a bit, and then I may poke at some other crafts. Everyone stay warm & cozy, and Blessed be!

Tis the Season...

I'm feeling mostly better after the bout with the head cold... I still have far too much snot in my head for my happiness, but overall feeling much better. Happily anticipating the snow we're supposed to be getting today... so far, it's cold enough for it, just not cloudy enough... We'll see... Working on my scarf, using the bobble crochet stitch & PURPLE yarn! It's fun. I'm going to make my parents scarves for holiday gifts. Friday I'll go pick up the yarn & then I'll get to crocheting! Yay! Hopefully I can have them done in time for Christmas... lolz... we'll see... Feeling so crafty, I could just pop. So I'm off to my scarf... ^__^

Sniff... Sniff... Arg...

So Britt is finally (mostly) better from her cold. I, however, seem to have found one of my very own. Goody. Sudaphed seems to help, if I can remember to take it regularly. It also has the wonderful side effect of being an appetite suppressant. I'm not complaining. ^_^ Now if only this awful burning, itchy, tickle would leave my nose alone, I'd be just peachy. Oh well. It'll be gone in a few days, and I'll be fine.

Today, Black Friday, Britt & I hid indoors until about 1600, when we deemed it safe enough to leave our apartment. We went to the harbor & ignored the 'NO TRESPASSING' sign blocking the way to some old buildings between the railroad tracks & the bay. We got a few awesome pictures before it got too dark & the batteries in the camera died. It is so cool there, I can't wait to go back when we have a bit more light & considerably more batteries. ^_^

As a side note, one of the worst things about having my head stuffed up is not being able to taste the food I'm eating. Ack. Anywho... Back to my spaghetti, and hopefully between the Sudaphed & Ecchinacea, I'll get to feeling better soon.

Thanksgiving & Menarche Art!

Happy Turkey Day to everyone in the U.S. ! And a very happy Un-birthday to everyone else! ^-^

I've had some amazing & slightly off colour inspiration for two up coming art projects, both of which will be collaborative with Britt. I can't wait for tomorrow ('cause it's payday, not because it's Black Friday... which I dread... =_=;) I'm going to go buy a bunch of panties & paint them. With what, you may ask??? Well... you'll just have to wait & see. And then I'm going to make a bullet belt... outta tampons. No, not used. Well, probably not used... ^-^ If you'd like to understand my inspirations for the aforementioned projects, check out this website. It's awesome. Or, if you want to go straight to the art, go here. Remember! An open mind is a wonderful thing to have. Try to think & look beyond our enculturation. I think it's extremely important for menstruation to lose all the stigma that's been attached to it. It's disgusting how society has turned something beautiful, natural & normal (albeit sometimes uncomfortable & painful) into something dirty that "needs" to be hidden, sanitized, hushed up, not spoken about, feared, loathed, dreaded, hated, etc.
Menarche used to be a celebrated event. Something that was looked forward to, as the doorway into womyn-hood. Something to be proud of. We need to stop shaming our daughters, sisters, mothers into silence, and allow this aspect of our womyn-hood to once again be a cause for celebration.

Because We Believe...

This is an wonderful blog I just ran across. And they're having a give-away to celebrate their first anniversary! Stop by & check out the absolutely wonderful ornaments they'll be sending out to a few very lucky people!!! I'm hoping I'm one of those lucky ones... ^______^
Good luck to everyone who enters their give-away!

Dolls, Winter, Crafting...

So I finally got my doll patterns in the mail! Yay!!! I'm now a bit on the intimidated side... Meep... I also need the sewing machine to get fixed before I can do much of anything. Meh... I'm contemplating retreating to the spare room to poke at it... or other things. I don't know. It's my last day off before three back at work, and I don't know what to do with myself. I kinda want to go check out the new shop in Fairhaven, but it's cold outside, and I'm thinking staying in is a good idea at the moment. I'm also thinking about picking up my spinning again. I haven't touched it since Lhu got a hold of it & massacred it... I was so pissed. Meh.

Well, whatever I decide to do, I'm going to go water the rose before anything else. I'll probably post again in a while, once I've crafted on something for a while. ^_^

Soup, bread & Koffee

Made another HUGE pot of soup today. Used chicken this time, as well as rice, barley, lentils, black beans, celery, a rutabaga, a parsnip, a turnip, red potatoes, Button mushroom, Crimini mushrooms & Oyster mushrooms. I am excited for it to be finished! I tried a new bread recipe today as well. It's in the oven & should be done in about a half hour. I usually try to make soup on my days off, as it takes me quite a while to get everything washed, chopped & into the pot before I can simmer it for... a while. But as my next day off this week is Wednesday, I figured today is as good as any to get it made!

I may actually have to make more broth to add to it... I added kinda a lot of stuff to this batch. We'll have to see.

Wondering if my doll patterns will come today... Probably not, but I'm still hoping. ^_^

It's insanely windy still, and on & off rainy. I walked to the store this morning, and it was a wonderful walk. I should have brought a different bag with me to carry my groceries home in, but at least I'll know for next time! Lolz... It only rained on me a little, which was nice.

Bought new Koffee creamer last night. After standing in front of the creamer section for 20 or so minutes hemming & hawing over which kind I should get, I decided to be adventurous & try something new... Woohoo! So I got Chocolate Rasberry... OMFG... It is so good, I could just keel over. : D

Yay for being adventurous... ^_^

I've had such a nice morning (a bit of afternoon too...), that I so badly just don't want to go to work today. Bleh. I really hate working evening shifts, as I have to staff the Hospital twice. Hopefully the trend from this weekend will continue, and we'll be well staffed & everything will be just peachy. I'm hoping! ^_^ Oh well. Whatever kind of evening it may be, I know I'll make sure it's a good one. I'm getting pretty good at not letting my job stress me out or put me in a foul mood... or both. ^_^

Well, I'm out of koffee & need both hands to refil my cup, so until later (probably tonight???), have a wonderful day & blessed be!

First, here is the cross stitch. It's suppose to be the cover for a pin cushion, but I really don't know what I'm going to end up doing with it...

And now, for your viewing pleasure & mine, my lovely cats. Whom I adore. ^_____^

First off, Macha...

And now for the Lhu... who is a ham, and so has the most pics...

He's investigating my cross stitch stuff... Crafty cat! Lolz...

Apparently, it all needs to be held down... O_o

So much for being crafty... =_=;
Lazy bumm...

And last but not least, Phiphi!

He's so sweet & snuggle-y! :3

... And occasionally a twee bit scary... lmao...

"I vahnt to suhck your blhood..."

I loves me some kitties. They're just the best! Miich!
WooHOOOO!!! The pumpkin seeds are in the oven! Topped with honey, Johnny salt, pepper, oregano & a few with awesome Vietnamese hot sauce, I can hardly wait!

O_O omfg... I just learned that pumpkin seeds explode when exposed to high heat... I went into the kitchen to investigate strange popping sounds, as if mice with guns were dueling by the dishwasher... Actually, I thought it was Lhu, getting into something he probably shouldn't be. So I went in, thinking, "What the hell is he doing now???" Nope. Not him (for once...). He was fast asleep beneath the table, and I (stupidly) opened the oven, only to get snipped at by bursting seeds! ACK! HIT THE DIRT!!!

Anyways. I covered the pans with foil. Now they can pop to their seedy little hearts' content, and NOT get all over my oven. Yay.

I also finished my cross stitch this evening! I'll post again once I have some pictures of it. I am pleased. Lhu didn't eat the floss this time, so I was able to finish. ^_^

And off to pull the seeds!

*nommy nommy nommy...*

Koffee, Math & Cross stitch

Back at the Horseshoe, this time without company, so Britt can work on math in peace & I can do... whatever I want. I actually miss having homework... -_-; Going to haul out the cross stitch here in a minute & finish it up. I have the light blue, well, lighter blue really, to do & then I'm done. ^_^ Yay! Another project almost complete!!! I also need to post some bread & pumpkin pics onto facebook, so Emily won't kill me... meep... Off I go for now... Another post with pictures as soon as the cross stitch is done & I get home to snap a pic. Today is going to continue being a great day! ^____^

Pumpkin Carving!!! ^_^

So I finally carved my pumpkin today... Yes, I am fully aware that Halloween was almost two weeks ago... But I didn't get to carve it that night, so it's been sitting in my kitchen all forlorn like, until I decided that TODAY would be the day. And what a day it was. It took me five hours (I shit you not... O_o;) to start & finish this pumpkin. My fingertips are sore & raw from holding the carving nib in them, as I couldn't find the pen they screw into...
-_- #...
Oh well. I'm really not complaining!!! I'm happier 'n a pig in mud with how my beloved pumpkin turned out. Now, without further ado, here are some (read: A shit load...) of pics! Huzzah!!!

First, though, before the pumpkins, Me & Lhu... nap time... ^___^

The difference in seed sizes, shapes, etc... On the right, your average pumpkin seed. On the left, a seed from my blue-ish green pumpkin.

Oooooo... Pretty colors... 0_0

Pretty-ness, nyo... I love how the rind is light blue-ish, green-ish grey, the under layer is deep teal & the flesh is yellow then golden orange. Hey, I'm easy to please...

Above shot to see her head band.

Side view of the fan... Her hand & the snakes were the hardest.

Side view of her head...

Macha... lmao...

Aaaaand more pumpkin pics... ^_______^

I'm beginning to worry that I'll not be able to cut her up for bread & pie... I suppose I will in the morning. I think I'm done for the night... As soon as the bread's out of the oven, I'm heading to bed. I'm a sleepy miich. I'd originally planned to make dolls today, but the pumpkin took far longer than I anticipated... So dolls will be for tomorrow. Well, later today, technically. Off to cross stitch until bread is done. Or maybe sleep in between letting the dough rise & baking... hmmmmm... I think sleep...

Grrrr... Arrrrggg...

Urg... I feel kinda like a zombii... =_=;
I worked 12s Saturday & Sunday, and go back to work tonight & tomorrow for eight hours... I should be in be right now, but there's a whole bunch of stuff I'd rather be doing than sleeping... That, and my bread's in the oven. I suppose I can sleep after it's out? I don't know. I hate having to sleep... it's such a waste of time. Oh well. I'll have Wednesday, Thursday & Friday off, so I can craft to my heart's content then. Going to cross stitch until the bread's done. As long as I at least get a nap in before work, I'll be ok. So until I feel less brain dead, auf wiederzein...

Started AND finished all in one day!!! O_O

I finally started & finished my first spirit doll! (All in the same day... omg... a pig just flew by my window o_o;) lolz...

For my kitty, Kyo-kun, whom I dearly love & miss:

Close up of his head...

And this one, just because I think it looks cool... ^_^

I am so happy with how he turned out, I could just pop. ^___^

Now to clean up my crafting mess... O_o; Don't want to leave any beads or string lying about for Lhu to nom on... -_-; That cat's like a two year old... EVERYTHING goes into his mouth... lol...

Are you kidding me??? O_o;

Please check out this link, then sign the petition. Yes, my panties are all up in a bunch about this. Halloween is my favourite holiday, not to mention Britt's & my anniversary... gah...

Bread Pics!!! (yes... I'm a nerd...) : D

And now for two adorable kitties... Phiphi & Lhu... Macha is hiding... lolz.

^ (Cthu)Lhu... My little Destroyer of Worlds... He's so sweet when he's all sleepy... ^-^

^ Looking more like the Elder-god-possessed cat we all know & love... XD

^ Phiphi snuggled into a nice fuzzy blanket... he's a sucker for anything fuzzy. ^-^

Macha, our female cat, is having attitude as per usual, and won't be bothered to come out from wherever she's napping to get her pic taken. But hey, would I expect anything else from her? Absolutely not! Really though, she's wonderful & lovey... and adorably protective of our house & porch... She's super cute when she gets up in the window & glares at the passing outside cats until they run far enough away from our place that she feels they're no longer a possible threat... ^-^ She's pluffy like Lhu is, but black with red & brown in her fur.

Enough pics & blogging!!! Go work on your dolls!

Ok, ok! I'm going!

Bread, bread & more bread...

I've had so much koffee, I may never hold still again... I've drank almost the entire pot to myself... o_o lolz... The bread I made for supper is done. And oh-so-tasty! I added sunflower seeds this time, and Britt says that it's a win. Yay! The cinnamon swirl bread is in the oven... It smells so good... I can't wait for it to be baked & cooled enough to cut... Mmmmmm. Talked to my mom for a bit, and got my grandma's apple bread recipe. Going to give that a whirl later tonight, after I go to the store & get eggs. I need to find out who at work has chickens, so I can get eggs from them instead.

Anyways! I feel like making dolls... So I think I shall. I've got my poor old witch still waiting for a body, and a spirit doll I'm going to make for Kyo... I've got some fur of his in a box (I found it when he got outside at our old house & got in a fight with another cat...) and I've wanted to do something super special with it. Knickertwist makes these awesome little dolls she calls "Spirit Dolls", and I absolutely LOVE them! They're so neat (and creepy : D)! She uses Spanish Moss for the wrapping around the bones or twigs, but I decided that using Kyo's fur will be the perfect thing to use on his doll instead of moss. I miss him so much. T_T

Anyways... again... ^_^ It's raining like there's no tomorrow outside, & still insanely windy. I am loving this weather! 20 more minutes & the cinnamon swirl bread will be done. YAY!!! Then we shall finally carve our pumpkins & bake the seeds... Mmmmmm... so good... Going to call Katie to see what exactly she sprinkled on her seeds... They were the best seeds I've ever had.... ^-^ Off to play with pumpkins! Miich!

November is upon us!

The Wheel turns a bit more
The skies are grey, the wind blows
The leaves flee from each tree limb
The wild wind stripping them from branch & bough.

It's November! And from the look & sound of things outside, the wind is indeed doing it's best to make all the trees bare by morning. ^_^ I love the wind! Washing the dishes I need to make bread... regular supper bread, cinnamon swirl bread & apple bread from my Grandmother's recipe. So tasty! I eventually need to go to the store to get eggs & milk tonight, but I don't need them at the moment, so I'll probably go later, when there aren't as many people there. ^_^ Off to my dishes & bread! ^-^

Here's some of the pics we got yesterday...

^ Auntie Mel in her school outfit... love the socks... ^_^

^ Grandma with her band in the 1960s-ish (?)

^ Grandma in the 1950s... we think...

^ Britt's Grandpa, Darrell, on the left, with his brother.

^ Grandma with Britt's mom, Kelly, on her lap.

^ Aunt Cindy in her roller skating ensemble. She kicked major ass in the rink. ^_^

^ Britt's Great Grandfather, Percy Garland Jackson in 1919.

Below is Grandma's band picture... she still has the trumpet (somewhere... ^-^)

^Auntie Mel at the Oklahoma City public pool when she's about 10.

^Auntie Mel in her infamous Marching Band uniform... Britt & I have heard numerous horror stories about this awful thing over & over, but no one knew if it really existed... until now... O_O

^ Granny Jack, Britt's Great Grandmother. Born Geneva Blankenship, she married Percy Jackson.

^ And last but not least, this is Auntie Mel & Uncle Herman (on drums) in Herman's band... Despite the awful outfits, they rocked. Mel has one of the best voices ever. She's currently busy giving the Angel Choir a run for their money... ^_~

We got quite a few others, but these are the best ones. I hope anyone who sees these enjoys them.

I'm off to make some bread now, so that I may feed the Britty when she gets up from her nap. ^_^ And then we're off to the Horseshoe for koffee & homework.

Happy Dia de los Muertos!
